Missing service history

Got a 2002 Y PLATE td5 xs lines up with missing servive history after 60k - done 90k - drives ok , no smoke, good motor, looks well - should I be worried

Are you gettin it from a stealer...and is it sold with genuine mileage? When i was about to buy a car a coupla years ago it said 60 on the clock with limited history, i discovered from another (Audi) dealer who the previous owner was through a coupla clever phone calls, have him a ring and found out it actually had over 160K on it, and had been clocked since he sold it. Went back to the dealer and told him and got it off him for under half the price he was offerin, was still a cracking car.

AT 90K - as well as usual oil/filter stuff , should I CHECK FOR TIMING BELT changes?

One thing I did notice was there was no viscuous fan noise at start up
(?) -

Any preventative measures people need to be aware of?
The vehicle itself is putting out around 150bhp - guess - although it doesn't appear to be chipped!

Hi

The TD5 has a timing chain so shouldn't need replacing. I bought mine with poor history and have slowly been servicng it myself.

How do you know that?

I used to have a 53 plate td 5 and much quicker than that - standard power is 136hp i believe

For servicing..

so far I have replaced the engine oil and filter and the gearbox oil. I have also greased the drive shafts and changed the air filter.

I've also replaced the gear box bias plate, the handbrake assembly, the tailgate latch, the fuel pressure regulator and am now looking at an issue with the starter solenoid.

Not bad going in 7 weeks since buying car. The repairs have slowed down the servicing.
