Got my new 225 65 17 Geolanders fitted to rims today. All good on the clearances, probs no tighter than the 55 series and clear of the strut Cup by about 10mm. But, the spare doesn't fit nicely. The 7J rim touches the high level brake light arm before the wheel nuts are tight.
Is the mount different for 17 inch 7 J rims or do I just fit a spacer of about 8mm on the cradle??

Anyone know the answer please?

There is a spacer I think. My 18" wheels fit my SE spare carrier just fine, which is strange as I don't have the spacer.

I think 18 inch would be OK as the high level brake light arm slopes away towards the tailgate. It is the combination of 17 inch and 7J that makes it foul.

Measured gap at hub with rim just clear of high level brake light.
10mm should do the job. Bought a 10mm spacer.
I think they are safe enough for the spare wheel mount :), but I wouldn't want to loose 10mm of thread on the road wheels !!

To be fair, the tyre does touch the high level brake light bracket, but not too much. It just puts a small amount of pressure on it and the bolts are tightened. But nothing bad enough to cause an issue.
