Of course, the one for dash lights under the seat was out changed it now all gauges work but that was before it wouldn't start.

Why did you not say that before it doesn't just do instruments it was number 1 fuse you replaced?...instruments all working now?...have you pulled a plug lead and checked for a spark simple I know but old school... have you looked at ignition switch wiring...
