I anit read through all this but looks like a good job. The shuttering can be removed next day but keep off the edges as they be soft. 6 weeks to drill is plenty you can dril after a week or so and use R Kem resin to install studs for ya posts

Hilti Hit be any good? Need the applicator gun though I think

Dont get on with the resin, used it a few times, Fischer et al, so prefer whack n tighten anchor bolts, the Simpson strong ties are just to hold the timber off the slab, most of the force should be compression unless i have a cider beforehand!

@bankz5152 I have seen some of your outstanding timber sculpture work!,

any suggestions on truss type? thinking asymmetric / scissor ( max internal height ) may fit a metal roof still not sure

Any thoughts?

Woohoo me wheels n bolts have arrived, now its the tyre dilemma's

got 7x16 rims standard height

Q1 235/85 16 or 285/65 16??
Q2 General Grabber AT3 or Cooper ST Derivatives

need to be good in snow...n winter mud

I have 200m-300m dirt track pot holes plus 100m hill dirt/ mud hill to my property live in a valley in the middle of the woods, nearest shop is 60mins each way walk. Winter is a right giggle!
aside from the odd pay n play n green lane and every fookin time i leave my house i am on tarmac.....

Answers on a post card.......:rolleyes:o_O

Not like the bfg ko2s? We're brilliant on my D2 in last big snow and decent on tarmac. Didn't do much mud but never had a problem
Nope, need All season they summer only etc i would wreck em, albeit they look identical to the grabbers tread pattern !

from the nearest tarmac to my front door is a night mare in the winter, I use continentals winter runs on everything other than the tratter cos anythign with a summer tyre come spring is cracked to fook!

They're all season, m+s 3 peaks rated mate

oooo really? thought they was summer tyres? these the wrong ones? I nknow the tyre sites get to all back to front sometimes, trying to find them ont h eBFg site at mo

I also read this :
https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=125
makes interesting reading!
  • Tires branded with the 3PMSF symbol are expected to provide improved snow traction beyond a standard M+S branded all-season tire.
Note: 3PMSF-branded all-season and all-terrain tires cannot match the traction of dedicated winter / snow tires in all winter weather conditions and should not be considered a replacement for where and when a dedicated winter tire is needed. But i like the sounf od the 3PMMSF

So i figured I wanted a dedicated winter tyre same as my conti's on the other vehicles,

etc

yep can see the logo on the tyre, you had em?

Yep, on my D2 and they were that good I replaced the worn general grabbers on the tratter with em. I do mostly tarmac, off road at the shows and was confident of going greenlaning with em it just never happened lol. Awesome in the snow and cold mate really couldn't fault them there

I can vouch for general grabbers at3 had them on my 2012 rrs and my Amarok excellent on road off road snow. A bit twitchy on wet greasy roads tho. Wear is also excellent and quite on road

mmmm thanks, I have michelin zxl's at the mo they are just excellent but in the wet like studded football boots on pavement!
Dry mud, snow and boggy they are superb. see pic

So i am looking for something with excellent wet grip on tarmac i suppose, it may well be that the GBAT3 are a great improvement on the zxl's though!
@bankz5152 will be along soon, he does a lot of tarmac as well as luna exploring so no doubt he will have a view on the cooper derivatives.

Yup love my cooper st maxxs. The pros where too aggressive for daily use so swapped to the Maxxs, really good all round tyre. Great in all conditions unless its chucking down with rain then braking can take a little longer but over all very good.

cheers buddy, i think i am leaning toward the general grabber AT3's
My mate has then on his 1960 pick up and on a (sorry to swear) GP Cherokee fing, they are impressive in the wet, we bid a slam em on test and he stopped about half a car length on form my empty VW caddy that has conti cros contacts on it. his thing is around double the weight etc

What a TOTAL W:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: COKFACE of a job,

Simple enough replace the exhaust on a TD5, with a full stainless system ( decat and straight mid)
Turbo Manifold studs n bolts came out easy no probes, new studs in sorted;)
Rubber hangers were being difficult, ( think they are made of a new military grade of poly bush non rubber stuff! hand new ones so just got funky with a stanley job done.;)
Remove downpipe, and fubared joints on the middle box....easy, I have a grinder!

Pop the new stainless pipe back in, which would have been a 15 min job but crossmember bolts had, well sort of morphed into the chassis like welded blobs of crudski.
i wish i had taken a picture they looked like a sausage roll fresh from the oven mixed with a rose bud, swollen and just morphed into something else!

So spent a merry 3 hrs getting them out, replaced all with nice new A4 Marine stainless bolts n nuts, fitted the exhaust very happy indeed.

Then I noticed two large lumps of something, yep my bump stops had 'fallen' down ( guess they just missed the old exhaust so much the had to go with it to the scrappers. So added a pair to my shopping list....

all done bathed and cidered :D

ZU Alloys have arrived, 7 inch R 16 but what size tyres?????

Standard height def 90TD5,
I have175 / 7.5 michelin ZXL at mo, want a similar ride height etc, but fancy a wider tyre and I dont really want spacers.

still undecided between the BF Goodridge KO2 and General grabber AT3 need them to be all season or 3 peaks (cheers @1988smithy )

I have around 1 km of unmade pothole mud and scalping and forest floor to negotiate every day to my home, plus a 100m steep up hill driveway again full of ruts and holes, the rest of the time is country lanes and tarmac etc.

So what fooking size tyre?

@bankz5152 @neilly @dieseldog69 @1988smithy @SkillzTom @Hicap phill what say you guys?
