Hi Guys and Gals!
Help needed!! I’ve got a 2002 Disco 2 TD5.
After an amazing easy drive from Hampshire to Paris via the EuroTunnel, about 50ks out of the city the infamous air in coolant gurgle started from the heater matrix behind the dash when pulling away in 1st and 2nd. Managed to coast in to the parking I’d reserved, no gain or loss of noticeable power, engine temp sat exactly where it had been in the middle for the past 300miles.
Thought it could be air from a small leak, hopefully not the HG.
Got back to the car this morning to a puddle of coolant on the floor.
Haven’t had the chance to investigate further.
Anyone know a reputable mechanic in or near Paris?

Thanks Mad Hat Man,
We are all safe, car is parked safely off the road.
Thought I had European cover, but need to check.
Was hoping on some advice relating to the possible issues / caused but need to investigate and take better pictures.
Also wanted to know if anyone new someone who could help fix, if only enough to get me back to UK before the 12th!

Haven’t had the chance to investigate further than climbin underneath to see a good drip and a splash of coolant, hoping it’s a loose hose connection or clamp, but obvious concerns are build up of pressure which may have caused a rupture of sorts.
Will investigate myself but also Anyone know a reputable mechanic in or near Paris?

Have you checked the LZIR (LandyZone International Rescue) map to see if there is someone there or there abouts who might be able to help?

No idea on your problem but as they say, bon chance :)

Back to the car tomorrow morning to clean up and check the leak location.

Earlier it was just dripping slowly, there is no oil residue in the coolant, although the header tank is not the cleanest, so a good flush before I left would have been prudent, but that’s hindsight.

Have coolant with me so will look for the leak, top up and start up and see what I can see. It looked like the source is right side of the engine looking at it head on, just above the sump...?
There were no overheating issues, smells etc. during the drive, only a sound from the dash which was gurgling so I knew air was getting in at that point in time.

Is there a better part of the forum to post my findings on to get assistance with fixing it?

Thank you

Cant tell from the photos but it looks like the nearside of the car where the puddle originates.
Small pipe behind manifold possibly.
If it is, this is where mine first leaked before I had to do a HG and put steel dowels in.

Get the shivers when HG is mentioned...
I had the gurgle / Sea side sound behind the dash also, but that would most likely be from the air in the cooling loop?

Will be checking in more detail in the morning and will get new photos and ask for further help.

No, it's blowing a gale through my parking and I know I wouldn't be able to weld in it so cancelled my plans with that but spent time looking at the compressor mounting and changing my mind a dozen or more times

How about you?
not good. Taking my Ford to Soton to, hopefully get it fixed on Monday. Bastid wont start :(. Starter motor just clicks :(.
On the good side, injun isnt seized. squirt of injun oil in each bore and jacked a rear wheel to turn injun.... successfully.
