Quite fancy doing something similar on mine - previous owner stuck an Anderson under the rear crossmember which looks rubbish, although useful.....

Certainly 'naff for any serious work, including tie-down on a ferry, perhaps he's got a large dog
nb: anchor point to save stopping to retrieve a sand-mat deployed under the front wheel ? Bit OTT though.
