What have you done to your Freelander today

Not done anything to my Freelander yet - picking her up on Saturday hopefully. I have however been doing important research at work (skiving on the internet) looking up all the parts I may need in stock when she goes wrong, some of the threads I've been reading are a little scary! Not quite convinced the wife a bigger turbo and some diesel tuning goodies are completely and utterly necessary......

Mid 2002 was when the fuel pump swapped from a twin pump to a single rear mounted pump, IIRC.
I must have struck lucky 02 plate in the scrappy with it behind the wheel thank god, also got my Android head unit wired up no more cds littering the place.

Just put him up:por drive up,the drive back will be better:) completely different car now, just been out in it again and need to remember to brake earlier :confused:think that’s my next upgrade.

Drove it for the first time after a week's hols. Was great to get to get behind the wheel of the old girl :D

Went up the local mall to stock up on e-Cig liquid. As I walk back to the car, I spotted a fella going back to his TD4 so said hello. Asked him if he liked his motor and he said he did "but I've had to replace the transfer box twice and its gone again and only 2WD now"! So I asked him if he only uses 4 matching tyres and has tested the VCU.

Yes he says.

No I thinks.

He might have a fetish for changing the transfer box.

I just finished a week long odyssey of changing the Thermostat on my V6.
I started last Saturday and tried to do the keyhole technique but the housing wouldn't budge so off came the intake manifolds. Good thing I had a couple of intake gaskets on hand.
I put everything back together but it turns out I buggered up the O-ring on the curved pipe so off came everything again. :(
Got it all back together with the new O-ring only to find it was leaking from one of the rad hose quick connects. The seals in them were pretty badly compressed after 14 years of use.
There are no Freelander hoses available locally and the US suppliers charge an arm and a leg, so an online order went in to Rimmers on Sunday night. UPS delivered them on Thursday.
Not bad service half way around the world!:) Rimmers just showed the two large hoses for North American market Hippos so I am hoping the smaller diameter one seals ok as it is $150. out of the States.
The hoses are in now (Not much fun, I had to Dremel off the top hose clamp on the rad and all the others fought me as well), but it's all back together once again. I ran it till the system was pressurised so tomorrow I will dry out the Vee and take it for a drive to see if the leaks are gone.

The most frustrating part of the whole episode is that the initial leak was very small and this was basically a preventative job that I could have easily put off.

Same for me over the next 2 weekends.

Under the spare tyre you mean?
It's just held on with a dozen or so trim poppers, so just use a trim removal tool to pop it off all round.

Today I took delivery of these items, to prepare for the MOT in a couple of weeks.

I was hoping that a pair of drums would arrive too, but alas not.
Tomorrow I'll be doing some painting and fitting a few polyurethane bushes, and replacing all the rear brake assemblies will be next weekend's job.

I think if anything mine will fail on bushes were did you get yours mate

I got those poly bushes from Island 4X4 for about £65 delivered, as they were on a special price. I'd normally go for standard bushes, but as the poly were so cheap, I thought I'd go with them instead. I think it works out at about £4 per bush, which is very good indeed. Apparently the ARB bush isn't correct for my 05, but those are cheap anyway. I still think it's a good price.

I may just order them anyway at that price for something to do when I'm bored
