The air filter only fits in one way up.
Yes, I know, tried it nose on the front down, but couldn‘t squeeze it in, somehow too big. Tried another one which worke at the end, thanks.

i know sometimes it can be a pain to fit them
twisting a tad sometimes helps
i think on an 02 year it's part of the maf sensor circuitry
later years have a separate sensor on the intercooler hose
so fuel pumps and filter ok ..
4500rpm ? .. taking it the limit huh
mine hardly ever sees more than 3000rpm .. have never felt easy revving a diesel ..
( 2700 in 5th .. be 70mph on mine .. a tad larger tyres than standard )

I found a used and air induct for 25q the other day and it made quite a difference back to where it was before. Forgot to take a pic to compare the two. Changed the air filter today and that helped as well. Checked on the Synergy today and read a bit into it. Having a look around for others as well, but might go for that one. Seems to be ok for that price compared to some for 500q.
changed the header a bit now that I‘ve seen how it works.
It was ok for a short while, but now got worse. Was thinking if now after I changed the air filter the MAF might be dead. I think to remember that Nodge mentioned in
a threat that it should be changed after 50,000 miles, if I am not wrong. I have the car for 50k miles now, haven‘t changed it except for cleaning last year and no indication if and when it might have been changed before.
Tried to disconnect it for a test, but couldn’t get the plug out. Thought the two noses to press and pull, but nothing. Also tried with screwdrivers, same. How could I get the plug off?
Thought then to take the screws off and pull it out, but the same, couldn‘t get them out either. The torx bits tx20and 25 don‘t work or are these others? The one that I had and which worked last year disappeared. The Wera doesn‘t work. I think Arctic mentioned a trick with screwdriver to loosen it, maybe that works.
The fuel went up to over 10l/100km now in mixed drive. I am not sure, but someone mentioned that consumption would go up as well, when dead or?

The MAF uses a 5 point Torx bit, so a standard 6 point won't fit.

Got some torx bits from Famex if anyone is interested, below, is called 10698-9 on Amazon and had a
look into the MAF after I took it out. it looks a bit thinner. tried to clean, but probably will get a new one very soon.

Test drove tonight with MAF unplugged and it's like another car. Much more responsive. Will order a new one likely Bosch, but it takes 3-4 weeks therefore much cheaper. Wondering what the diff to the Pierburg from Rover Ron is or is that one just to take if you the Synergy? Would the Synergy be able to compensate that old one till the new is here?

The factory Bosch MAF is the best one to use.
You can only use the Pierburg MAF is you have a Synergy installed.
Ordered a Bosch one and found that the Synergy can compensate the Maf which might be an option in the meantime, thanks.The factory Bosch MAF is the best one to use.
