Looking for a couple or 56 lb weights, or thereabouts, for boat trim weights.
Hoping to find a couple around London, March, Cambs, or points in between, for ease of collection.
Anything heavy and made of metal will be considered, but something like the attached image would be perfect for the job.
Cash waiting, pm me for a mobile number to discuss. Thanks.

I suspect arf' undred weight lumps are silly money these days. The sort of thing that was just lying around when we wuz kids but not seen any for a long while.

Plenty around on ebay, they sell for about 20-25 quid a piece, which is no problem, but most of them are miles away, and no postage for obvious reasons.
So I was hoping to flush some out closer to my usual haunts. The 56 lb isn't essential, metric would be fine.

What’s your sensible radius from wherever you are at the moment?

About 50 miles from anywhere on a line between March and London. I don't need them in the next few days, so I can work it in with other stuff.
Fairly flexible, but I don't want to go to Doncaster or Cumbria, which is where the best ones on ebay seem to be.

Have you looked for Gym Weights from blokes that have bought them, used for a bit, and then given up?
I would think there will be more of those around. I use some of mine to hold items down in the garden.
They range from 25K down to 0.5k typically.
Just a thought.

Might consider them if I get desperate, but I was hoping for something with a period feel, and a similar appearance to the half dozen I am already using.

Paint flowers and stuff on cast iron weight lifting eeerr...weights.
Y'knar like you do on rusty watering cans an milk churns and stuff.:D

Might try it if I get desperate, but I am convinced there will be some more convenient.
Just a matter of finding out where.
I could collect this one but what I would do with it then is ??????? Is anyone in south/mid wales on holiday in the near future? I could possibly meet up and hand it on.

Kind offer, but just not worth the hassle.
I am not desperate, just want a few more for trim options depending on how full or empty my water and diesel tanks are.
And they are everywhere. I am in a marina at the moment, there are about 60 boats in here, and most of them probably have several of the weights in the bilge. I have 6 in mine already, in various places.
Just a matter of waiting until somebody locally wants to get rid of some.

@Turboman
Just a thought... had some industrial scales calibrated the other week & they use these weights.

Company called Avery scales they may have some old ones . Not got an email address.
