I do like a guessing game.
Although looking at your earlier pictures (with a sad looking little jr after all your swearing at it :p), it looks like the diff is fitted, as are the the swivel seals and reatainer, the half-shaft is in, so my guess is going to be one of the seals.
Maybe the oil seal in the swivel ball?

Yea I spotted he swivel seals before but if it has been apart again since those photos were taken who knows (apart from Border)

All Wrong,
I remember now where/why I went wrong, Next time I will slow down and think every move through.
In the mean time I let yous keep guessing ;)

Well thats a good start at least!

Does the CV have a retaining circlip on the 1/2 shaft and you forgot it?
Not sure will check that when it all comes apart again.
I think this Idiots Mistake could be a Very First in the Land Rover World, Trust me to make it

Wish it was that simple. Like I say this could be a first, Yous will probably not believe it when it comes out, that's if anyone can guess it.
That's why I am so embarrassed about making it.
So I'm guessing by the 'it' bit it is something singular so could be relating to the diff. Are we getting warmer?

Not at All
When I say IT I mean just the whole mistake itself. Wont do the warmer colder thing coz it will just be narrowed down after mentioning all parts.;)

Are both sides built up. Have you put the wrong half shaft in and noticed when you came to build up the short side with a long shaft :p

Well Im not so down now, just sorted it, in about 2 and a half hours was not as bad as I first thought , would have took me less if my 14 m Halfords Professional spanner had not knacked up, first one for me will take it back to the shop to see if they keep there promise of replacement.
Anyway the mistake was/is a Very Stupid one and Im still Very Embarrassed by it so yous will have to keep guessing . My excuse is I am just a beginner and the old excuse, Cant see it for Looking at it.

Did you put them on upside down or back to front?

Halfords are very good with the exchange warrenty. I have had things replaced when I don’t have the receipt so you should not have any problems.

OK Which one is right and which one is wrong.
