Guinness World Record
Plans are going ahead for the 2018 Billing Off Road Show. We have taken on board all the comments and advice that has been given to us since the summer, and can confirm it is full steam ahead.

Land Rover’s 70th Birthday is next year and what better way to celebrate than to attempt to set a world record. The organisers are planning to set a world record for the biggest ever off road Land Rover convoy on the Saturday afternoon of the show.

For those interested in participating and being recognised by the world's authority on record-breaking achievements, it will cost five of your finest English pounds, but that does include your own unique sticker with the number of your entry. You will still need to pay for a ticket to the show itself, but if you book early online you can save 20% – for more information check out our website.

So far, just two records of a similar ilk have been set by the Guinness World Records, including 'the Largest Parade of Land Rover/Range Rover vehicles', which featured 516 vehicles and was achieved by LandMania Clube de Portugal in Gouveia, Portugal on 7 September, 2014, and 'the Largest Convoy of Off Road Vehicles', which consisted of 449 vehicles and was organised by Lancelin District Community Association in Australia on 15 October, 2016.

Hi all, I am one of the organisers of this event. Would be great to have as many of you there as possible!

Also, would be fab to have a landyzone club stand too if this is something you think would be of interest? If so i can send across a form (no cost and you get some free passes)

Let me know

Ed

I dont think there even trying. France is much further than the south coast FFS.

Far to easy to get to...............

This could be interesting... Landyzone took part in this very challenge on a previous occasion. Unfortunately it turned sour and caused quite an argument around various forums/Clubs.

I might well be there myself if work allows.
thats probably down to the lz representatives rather than the forum as a whole

Northampton is in the middle of the country

5 mins from Junction 15 of the M1
Traditionally the way to find the official centre of a country is strangely by Land weight.

If you where able to cut out the UK and it’s islands then balance it on a pin you might be surprised to find the official centre of the UK is in the Trough of Bowland near a place called Dunsop Bridge, Lancashire.

Oh - what is the story behind that?!

Also i was considering going to this anyway - would be nice to do a club thing :)

OK LANDY PEEPS... ATTENTION!

LISTEN UP!

I was at the Malvern show on saturday, as was the nice man who organises the Billing show.
I asked him how many vehicles he has signed up for the record breakingtraffic jam, i mean convoy. He thinks around the 450 mark.
Then he dropped the bombshell.
Those bloody Germans have set a record last week of over 600 vehicles!
This will not do...

NEVER, HAS SO MUCH, BEEN OWED TO FEW WILKS BROTHERS.

We must fight the Germans on the autobahns,
in the fields,
in the water.
Whatever and wherever it takes to beat them, with a bigger number of our own!

So, spread the word!
Top up the oil!
Grease those nipples!
(no, not those nipples)
AND lets get more Land Rovers signed up for our BRITISH RECORD BREAKING CONVOY, and make Winston proud!!!!!!!!!!!
