I know, Has anyone noticed photo 6 Rear cross member is shot but spare one is laid on top.
Just noticed myself before.
Yes, I'd seen that. The rest of the chassis looks in good nick for it's age. Franklin Steel, in Blaydon, I've found good for galvanising.

i aint looked at pics if you know what you are doing you can weld one back in and you wouldnt notice but i would and strengthening plates too it too over the joints to make it super srong so you dont pull the arse our of ya landy when towing or in my case i use them as a mobile jig pmsl if i dont use a tree
Got a couple of mates that could weld it on for me.
Ill give you a shout when I get it Mate you can come and have a look if you want, unless its a load of rusty crap then ill be to embarrassed to show anyone, LOL

Yes, they supply steel, but I've never bought any from them, so no idea of their prices. Worth a try though.
They don't galv at that factory. Every Tuesday they send a wagon up to a place in Scotland and it comes back on a Thursday. Prices were reasonable though.

how much they charge do they blast them too ? i used leeds galvanising they were ok good service only prob when it came back it was on a 17.5 tonne waggon on top of a load of other gear so was a complete nightmare to get off no hiab

No, they don't blast. There was a £25 minimum charge, but not sure of their rate per Kg. I just took a load of bits and the guy just quoted me a price, which was very acceptable at the time. Sorry, you'll have to give them a bell.

What north east are you in.
Looks like a nice project, gumtree has a lot of land rover parts at the moment.
If you scan the little box below where the little bit of paper is on the v5 you can get the full reg number.
That is in the last picture, I bet the owner never knew you could do that, need a bigger bit of paper next time.:D
Last mot expired mid 2011.
White 87 110, 140k miles.
It may be a proper county station wagon and they have a big price tag when finished.
Chassis looks good but not sure the tape is strong enough to hold the rear crossmember.:)
Looks like you have got good value for your money, hopefully paintwork will be good enough to leave it factory original.
Well done on your purchase.

Nah, you’ll be fine. It looks like a great project.
But I will expect it to look like this by the end of next month...
