Question about larger tires

Hi there,

I recently saw a 110 in Berlin with a set of really nice Goodrich 255/85 r13s. I think it was raised a bit to accommodate them:

I'm not really keen on mucking with suspension lifts as I got it with a great set of custom shocks (plus my mother in law has enough trouble getting into the passenger seat already ), but it's not raised - can anyone recommend a resource on max tire sizes for stock suspension heights/wheel wells?

From there I want to start researching decent tires for mainly on-road and a reasonable amount of dirt use - any recommendations welcome.

I did a bunch of offroading in Australia and always wanted to try some fatter tires (also, these looked pretty cool)

You might find 13" rims hard to get hold of for a tratter

265 75 16 will fit a bone stock defender with zero issues....

To be fair this topic has been done to death so utilisation of the search function would probably get you more info..

No worries, it's usually faster at finding the info you want as opposed to waiting for defender owners to finish feeding their pigs and get typing

Marmalade, me pigs is feeded and watered, an me tratterer's waitin fer a new layshaft an some gear stuff, coz I managed to get into third and fifth simultaneously, an she didn't like it, so a gearyboxythingy rebuild is now ongoin!
A part frum witch, I fort we wus usin Tyres over ear, or duz uz just roll up a few Septics an drive over them?

Your pic looks like a lifted vehicle to me.
You should bear in mind that wider tyres can be limiting in some off road situations, I don't know what it is like where you are, but if there are narrow gates and tight turns, something tall and thin might be better, and less load on your steering.

Like they say ^^^^^^^^^^, search function is good.

If you want to get a pig, make sure it is a nice British Breed, like a Saddleback, not some continental rubbish like Pietrain.

GOS are a good pig, the breed was originally bred to live in the fruit orchards of the Gloucester area. The sows I used to keep were actually GOS crossed with British Saddleback.
Only problem with GOS is they are a short fat pig, and the modern taste is for a longer. leaner pig. I don't favour a really scrawny animal, Like the Pietrain I posted about earlier. But I used to put my sows to a Large White boar, trying to get the best of both worlds.
