Hi all,

First time on the forum so I hope someone out there may be able to help!

I have a Discovery TD5 Commercial with rear air suspension. The vehicle is plated for a Gross Vehicle Weight (now known as Maximum Gross Mass or MGM) of 2880 kg, which is the same as the estate car.

Does anyone know if it is possible to uprate the suspension to achieve a MGM of 3500 kg or above to enable me to tow an 8 ft wide (2,5 m) trailer?

Thanks for your help.

Check with VOSA, i think you will have a bit more to do than just suspension, brakes will require upgrading and possibly fit a tachograph as it's already a commercial vehicle.

Thanks for the info.

I didn't think it was going to be easy but thought it worth asking the question.

I once towed a Suziki Jeep with a 4 tonne mobile toilet block on the back with my old Disco TDI300 without any problems but I guess the law is the law!
