HDC amber light AND reversing lights on???

Hello all

My 2000 XDi has had the amber HDC light come on and also the reversing lights are constantly on (worries cars behind at traffic lights - oh S4*! what is he about to do!!!!).

The reversing lights are also causing the rear wiper to run constantly (while the front wipers are on). The handbook says they are meant to do this when in reverse.

I have read on the forum about a connector or switch somewhere near the gearlever? Where is it and is it fixable/expensive?

yep summit to do wif a poor connection down near h/brake i seem ta recall ,do a check in search ,its bin coverd. . . .best oh luck earthling

I have just taken off the rubber gaitor and there is a black wire and a blue wire that are floating about, not fixed to anything!!

Guess I need to find where they should be soldered too!

fink its the reversin switch. . .if i was in ma rocket i could tell ya as its all on pooter. . .but i'm int the tratter pub. . . .

Wunt yer be able to tell if thats the bother by shortin the wires out ?
Or seperatin em if they were shortin on summat under the gaytor

dont just short em - stick a light bulb in between wires - saves ya shortin out finks - a lite bulb on a cupple of wires is a very useful tool to have
