Not without incident. Radiator developed a small split on the morning after our arrival in the UK in the usual place along the plastic top where the bleed pipe moulding is located. I guess cruising at 75/80 for 5 hours was too much for it. No overheat though.
Tried to fix it with fibre glass, lasted 2 days:mad:

I'm a bit ****ed off at having to buy a new RAD as I have a spare at home but not worth risking the engine.:(
The split was where the cowl mount adds stress.
As a result, I only did 940 miles instead of the expected 1,200.
Heavily loaded heading for the UK and cruising at 75/80mph it turned in a smidgin over 26mpg, on the return run, again heavily loaded, cruising at 70mph it managed just under 28mpg, not bad IMO. Dropping to 60mph it would go up to 30mpg.:D

my old girl did well again.we did about 1500 miles round france and belguim with the old wobble box on the back up to hull overnight then belguim and france then back to hull averaged 18mpg on gas so realy impressed and gas in belguim is only 55cents a ltr so made touring cheap so im impressed with the old girl

Shame it spoiled your trip. I always carry a box of Q-Bond it's made a few temporary repairs for me in the past, till home. But once you use it replace the box with new as once you break the seal on the applicator the remaining adhesive fluid won't hold strength for long) - the repair will be Ok though. Might be interesting to hear what other members carry for emergencies like yours. Still you have a good rad that should last the life of the car (assuming you keep it for a year or so?).
It was probably all that wine you had onboard???

I tried seveal things but nothing stopped the leak. I'm sure it was the 5 hours at 70/80mph that finished the RAD.
The P38 is intended to last me out:D I have a scrapper for spares:D:D

I'm doing much the same trip on Wednesday, Although slightly less French mileage. I have revised my speed down to 65mph for better "radiator" mileage!
Brimmed the tank today for 1.19€/litre which equates to less than a pound a litre. It's the little pleasures!
€1.153 here on Friday and as my pension came in at €1.265 that equates to £0.911 per litre.:D:D
