Help with fuel pump

I've just replaced old fuel pump on my freelander and this part near it has snapped or fell apart I wasn't present at the time it was a friend he claims it fell apart but I'm nt so sure.
Can it be fixed? What is it and how can I fix it?
If it can't be fixed where can I get replacement?

Looks like a solenoid valve. Possibly linked to vapour recirc
