hi guys, sorry one quick question as i wasn't clear in my other post an wanted to keep the issues in separate post.

so tomorrow in going to have a go at taking my propshaft off an go 2wd until i get my recon vcu.

so do i take off the whole propshaft or just the front or back for 2wd? Im only going to be using the car lightly until i go to bells engineering an get my recon vcu an rear diff mounts sorted.

thanx in advance guys.

either or doesnt really matter i usually remove the 4 bolts holding vc and undo both ird and diff ends to remove the whole lot, you can drive it as hard as you want

take the whole propshaft of 6 nuts bolts front propshaft 4 at the back and 4 holding the 2 propshaft bearing in the middle take care when undoing the bolts the prop and vcu is very heavy use some kind of support to help you and good luck will be fine running in mondo 2 wheel drive mode until such time you refit the prop and no need to blank anything of

as above what the guys have said, there are many very experienced guys on here who have virtually done extensive work on there hippos and will always tell u honestly and up front

the mechanic u spoke to obviously hasn't got a clue in what he's talking about

like many others ive at one strange taken my prop off when i got it repaired and can assure u it works fine, u wont cause any damage to ur hippo

ive been here around 4 years and can honestly say u wont get more honesty and up front advice , as alot of garages havent got a clue how to work on 4x4 thats why so many do the work ourselves and then know its done properly

good luck buddy
