Beware when buying 'Timkin' ebay bearings

Me that miss interpreted it I spose, I thought it means that they do not imply the manufacturer of the bearings as being that in the photo

yes,using rtc3429 could imply its from lr themselves ,though we all do use the numbers for ease ,except famous four who have their own numbering system for web site,though it pays to be cautious :)

Bought cheaper because of that line in the description though so they lost a sale:)
 
Saw the same disclaimer last week on some ebay ads for a breather hose - picture had allmakes on it but a bearmach branded one arrived

I'd say you were right to be cautious, although without ordering and seeing if what arrives does have Timken stamped on we'll never know!

You could also ask the seller who the manufacturer is before you buy, at least then you will have it in writing if he tries to send something else.
 
More than one seller using the same picture of the bearings and boxes etc so that puts me off, I like to see what I'm getting before I buy.
 
Well, me bearings arrived today


In a Bearmach box , not Timkin as advertised.

Phoned to complain and they said they sent the wrong ones by mistake, agreed to keep them and have them refund the difference in price

Wanted to fit them today and didn't want to be faffin about getting more and sending these back:rolleyes:

Could have been a genuine mistake, benefit of the doubt and all that
I have bought from them before and they are cheap with free postage and its the first time I have had a problem, they were very helpful on the phone as well.
Save a fiver as well :D
