I have carried out a search for heated seats but it all seems to be old post. Has anyone had any recent experiences fitting heated seats. I have had a look on ebay at some of the kits. Does any one know if they are any good,

I have tried everything on my Defender, 88 degree thermostat, electric fan on rad, 300 watt ceramic heater. New door hinges to stop the drafts. Flushed out the heater matrix. Rad muf. A new coat which seems about the best solution so far.

Exmoor Trim have an excellent reputation if not a bit pricey - isn't it warm enough in southern France and Morocco!.

During the winter months here I have seen it down to -18c for several weeks. The fender only seems to begin to warm up when I have arrived at my destination. The 300 watt Electric heater that I have does help but not sufficient on its own.
I will look Exmoor trim up.

I have fitted some of the carbon matrix cloth ones to seats before and found them to be very good. I even have one in the seat of my Suzuki Vstrom. Work great.

Have you insulated your vehicle? I found the heater on my 200tdi to be excellent!

No haven't insulated it. I have some carpet tiles on the roof and a piece of carpeting in the back. My temperature gauge hovers around the center mark and the heat coming out of the vents with the fan on full is just above Luke warm. No matter what I do the engine doesn't seem to get warm.

Why not put a dog guard up behind the front seats then some insulating material behind it stuck on the dog guard with velcro so you can take it off if you want to - not so much to warm up inside then - this works for me.

I put up a thick canvas (bit of army tent) as a curtain come the winter, makes the cab smaller & heats up quicker.

i insulated the rear of my 90 with that camping mat spongey stuff n then when it's winter i put some curtains up on the internal cage so the heat just stays in the cab, but i do now have rx8 leccy heated seats fitted although i need someone that knows what they're doing to wire the leccy bit up!! lol :D

The gauge is supposed to sit on the centre mark. Is your heater properly sealed? You'll be surprised at the amount of difference this makes. There should be a thick foam/rubber seal from heater to bulkhead and a foam seal from intake to heater. Also silicone up any gaps in the heater that shouldn't be there. It probably does work quite well and you're just losing a lot of heat before it even gets anywhere near you

I dunno is it any use to you but i bought the heated seat covers from Lidl and pulled the elements out of them. then wired em into the seats (on top of the foam, under the cover) and put the switched in the center console, all in i think it cost me about €25 so not bad, and they are feckin toasty!!!
