£19.48 Part No: STC3342R - Brand: BM - Supplier: Bearmach
£33.93 Part No: STC3342G - Brand: PR2 KS - Supplier: Allmakes
Is the G Genuine part? and whats the R for?? STC3342R

Thanks

most people in the trade by the best by getting different parts from all 3 of the wholesalers, g is normally genuine or oe from britpart

Go for one with the metal impeller, not plastic.

Mine had a metal impeller Britpart pump about a month before I bought it - the pump failed after about 9 months (weeping) on inspection the metal impeller had dug a 1mm trough in the aluminium body of the pump! Presumably the seal failed and the bearing wore allowing enough movement for the steel impeller to damage the water pump body? I replaced it with a Bearmach - that too had a metal impeller - has been fine for three years so far.

Think i would rather have a plastic impeller and good bearings than a metal impeller and crap Chinese bearings. Good bearings and a metal impeller would be utopia. There is that much shoddy stuff around these days it's hard to be sure what you are buying to be honest. I am willing to bet there are lots of pattern parts in genuine manufacturers boxes. Don't know what it's like now but a few years ago there was a large scare in the aircraft industry about scank fasteners. So if they can get scank parts in aircraft makers stock bins they can get them in anyones.

There not showing pics of the pump, but its as cheep as chips, and not a pain to do it, didn't know if I should have got a new fan and all that, but I think the one that came off (in the end) will work on, it was rusted on, thats why I couldn't get it off, and it didn't help whoever put it on, put it back on with a chisels

If it's diesel, do my aircon fans mod and throw the viscous away. Easier to do the pump next time.
