Not ever started painting my chassis yet although all the rear axel is done etc
May need to pick ya brains on the front axel

Cheers :) Looks far on but I want to get most of the painting out of the way and leave the rest until then. Still got all the interior to do and all the wiring to sort.

To be fair it's gone together quicker than the last one and I've been on my own more. For me it's never fast enough though. I'm never fully satisfied with the progress. Be it within a day, week or month.
But when it's all done and on the road I will then be satisfied and happy as larry :)

They don't take long to come together when you start.
Oh and pick away mate.
 
Well I had a bit of a mincing day today.

Fitted door handles and fitted/adjusted lock catch.
Fitted door seals and van sides to roof seals.
Fitted wing vents, Heater duct.

These little buggers are what hold the side wing vent on.
Took me ages to find a part number and even then they're listed as a seal :confused:

Test fitted me new bonnet :D
Not to everyone's taste but I like it :)
Had to jig about with the slam panel abit to get it to shut.
And fitted the td5 bonnet pull. Works a treat.
Oh and by fecking god it's a bit heavy on your own :eek:

Bought a load of sanding disc. To many but I'm sure I'll use them elsewhere.

Not a massive fan of chequer plate but it would be a massive task to remove it. Silicone on again.
So I'll paint it mask it up and then paint the bonnet.
So bought a litre of satin black. Etch primed and painted.

Yeah I see what you're saying regards the chequer plate actually.

If it was simple to remove I would. But it's silicone on, Infact it's looks more like tiger seal so even worse :eek:
Plus I would then have to filler about 20 holes or so from the rivets.

As above I would remove if it was simple.
Hopefully it'll look ok painted body colour and black chequer plate.

Came round today saying he could smell paint thinners.
:blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: He then walked of and mumbled something.

I said "Sorry what did you say?"

He said "You will be!"

Nice so now you're threatening me :rolleyes:

Don't get me wrong I can understand it but it's for an hour, I do it in the garage as apposed to the garden to try and stop the smell as much as I can.
He/her are just being cnuts. Worst thing is my actual neighbours aren't bothered but 2 doors down are :mad:
Anyway enough of said cnut.

First job, mask the chequer plate up. Easier said than done :eek:
To be fair I should have done it the other way round. But hayho it's done now.

And then cleaned and painted a few bits.
K&N filter looks a bit old so I think I'll just replace it with a standard one.

I take it back I do like it with the black chequer plate and the bonnet body coloured . and f**k your neighbours some people don't appreciate what you are doing I would gladly have you as my neighbour as I'm sure many on here would to.

Cheers, It definitely looks better than I thought it would :)

They just don't get it.
They want the quiet life but it isn't going to happen. I'm obviously bringing the street down. Although try my best to keep people happy and they still complain. Don't know why I bother sometimes.
It'll be interesting to see if I get a visit of some sort next week.

Next time I come round I'll drive on their grass and tear the garden up, or straight through the hedge ... Tell 'em their grass is too green or something, bastards.

Not a lot done today, Kind of not feeling my self, Heads a shed and can't think straight :(

Well the first job was to fit the bonnet.
What yer think then now it's painted body colour and black chequer plate? I know a few didn't like it before.

Decided to change the lights for some others I had. Ended up smashing one :(

Anyway after that fiasco I fitted a set of headlight surround I had in the shed.
And we have the first bit of lighting working :D Well it's one down still lots to go :eek:
On another note what colour should I paint the headlight surrounds/grill ?
Gloss black, Satin black, Silver, Leave unpainted or other.
Opinions please :)
