MOT pass and cheap oil!

As per title after many months fettling took the old girl for an MOT and she sailed tthrough with no advisories!

To cap it off went to Wilkinsons where they had a sale on oil and bought a bottle of 2 stroke for £1.50 and two 5litre engine oil for £6 a pop!

15/40 non synthetic! I have used it before without issue.

Personally I like to use inexpensive oil and change regularly to remove any nasties!

I like to use good quality oil (5W40 full syn) and change it regularly but each to their own.

It does say 15/40 in my handbook so if that's what Land Rover recommend....

And at £1.20 a litre I am happy! 😁

Yep, 15/40 mineral changed every 6 months makes for the happiest land rover around

We don't need high performance oils in these old motors and minerals lubricate very well but do require changing more regularly.

That's not to say that 5w40 synthetic not be preferable for the BMW M51 motor...

So you may say, Wammers uses cheap oil, needed new timing chains, mine, same sort of mileage, the chains are good. Anyhow, it's my money, I'll waste it how I like
