fitting stereo help

Hi the double dinn has turned up
6.2" Double 2 DIN 2DIN Car DVD Player GPS NAV Bluetooth Touch Stereo Screen | eBay

now im trying to wire it just to test it, so i took out my old stereo and just wired the batt ign and grd wire but it seems dead, the fuse in the dash is good as is the fuse in the device, i tried reinstalling my old stereo and that is now dead also - is there a fuse elswhere that could have blown?

did u change ya dash round to fit the stereo... if so pics lol

make sure your earth is ok

if you have live test the earth also test the ignition live as for the fuses i thought there was only 1 in the dash and 1 on back of radio

ill do pics yeah just trying to test it at the min, i think i might just try and cop the old radios harness and see if it will power as it comes with radio side plug only and wires to connect, ive only tried the bat grd and acc could it need more connecting to work?

The amount you play with electrics I think you need to invest in a multimeter.......

You will prob need two lives and an earth to spark up the radio. 1permant live and another switched live. Usually coloured red and yellow on aftermarket looms. And the earth is black.

Although most stereos have ISO connectors on the other end of their sub loom which should plug straight into the hippo loom.

excellent whod have thouight it on same as interior light also alls well, well except theres some wire on new dvd that im not sure about


ILL I know is illumination but where does that connect to? im guessing its not in the L/R harness?
CAN RXD AND CAN TXD?
KEY 1 AND KEY 2 - I think are for a secondary battery?
AUTO ANT - powered ariel?
BACK?
BRAKE- this will be so i cant use dvd when moving but can i ust connect that to grd? or acc?

BACK. - possible reverse. Linked to rear veiw cam

so for eg ign 1st key positionon but not fully on to 2nd key position?
ifso where would that wire to as old radio did it anyway?

from what i find key 1 and key 2 are deffo for steering wheel control

yep cleared up what they are for and i prob will be fitting one not too fussed either way,

just the back wire to suss and make the fascia then im guessing i dont need the rxd/txd wires anyway

make a list of the wires u dnt no do wat and i will spend some time for you trying to work them out...

wanna see this done as i bought a single din digital stereo (no cdplayer) today but if i can get a double din there thats what i want

the back wire is for if you have a reverse camera fitted

i dnt think you need to connect it at all

only if the camera is wired in to work like a amp
