Hello to all i hope you are well

Well my speakers are going, one is completely gone.
My Car has Haman Kardon System radio unit is long gone.
I have one Chinese double din with gps and is behaving really well.

First question is what the diameter of the speakers to buy?

Strangely enough only my front speakers play (all the speakers are playing ( old and going , 1 is totally gone) i say this because i had the chance to test all of them.) And the funny is all the tweaters play but not the rear big ones????
I think its the AMP so will make new wiring by passing the amp (comments?)

Second question i would lime to keep the CD Box. Is there any way to connect it to the Double din unit?

Many Thanks to all

It's the main speakers, not the amp. They are known to get water in them, which kills them. The door will take a 6.5" speaker, as long as it's not too deep, and you need to drill some holes for the screws.
I used a pair of universal JVC speakers, as an upgrade to mine, at the same time as adding sound proofing material to the door.

If you remove the amp, you'll loose the sub, which makes a difference to the sound.

Nodge my sub woofer is long gone was just a frame when i got the car. I have removed it long time ago.
So I really don´t need the amp.
That´s the strange part i test them all and they all worked. But only the 4 tweaters and the 2 front ones played.
Any idea about the CD box?

That's unfortunate, as the main speakers are designed to work with the sub. They are lacking in low end bass otherwise.

If the sub isn't there, then replace the 4 main drivers with something better suited to full range audio reproduction.

No, unfortunately there's no way to connect the factory CD player to an aftermarket HU.

Rip the CD's to MP3 and put them on a memory card or USB stick in the Chinese unit. Then you can add more CD's than you could sensibly keep in the car !!

I have 1200 CD Rips, but it requires about 112GB, so I only have a selection in my 32GB SD card..

Tends to depend on whether the CD was ripped with the MP3 levels set correctly, plus the age of your ears ! I certainly don't notice the difference in my P38, but I also level corrected my collection. Also my DAB Radio sounds better than the Chinese FM even though it should have less dynamic range ? I suspect it's better frequency response than FM.

Other alternatives are FLAC or the original CD Wav files & Android PowerAmp APK, although you need the paid version for this. Each CD will be about 600MB, so calculate storage accordingly !!

CD on sounds better than any MP3 I've ever heard, thats in the Freelander or on my home Hifi.

WMA lossless is close, but still not as good as a decently mastered CD.

Been looking at my speakers today, none of the main speakers work, tweeters all ok and I have already replaced sub which was knackered.

First speaker I checked looked to be in fine condition and didn't seem to have any significant corrosion on the connectors.....wrong !

Checked with a multimeter and extremely high resistance via terminals, however connecting to wires behind these, on speaker itself , just a few ohms.

Cleaned terminals with some sandpaper strips and now testing a few ohms as well.

Plug was difficult to clean so gave up and just put some spade terminals on it, wiring in door appeared a bit black when stripped back, so suspect been damp.

This speaker now has sound coming out of it......so need to get other 3 done as well.
