Hi People

Sorry for the random title, I'm just taking a long shot for some help / advice.

I have a 1996 P38 D and my wife had gone away for the weekend to Sherwood forest, as per usual when she uses it, it has developed a fault and come up with a EAS Fault warning and started beeping etc.. She has limped it her hotel but I am wondering what to do next.

Is there anything I can do to try and reset the fault or am I best to head down there, give her my car and drive it back carefully on the bump stops and take it to the garage on Monday?

Or is there some kind peron on here reading this, that just so happens tp live round the corner from Ollerton and fancys saving a damsel in distress (well sh will be on monday when she comes to drive home)

Any advice would be appricited

thanks

Peter

Usual problem is lack of air pressure. For one reason or another. Look at my "How To" for ways to check for reasons for that.

Your welcome to spend the weekend with 5 ladies in a log cabin if it means you can fix the range :)

I guessed a EAS Diagnostic device, are these easy to get?

Thanks

All done mate, she's on her way round to yours. Enjoy

Thanks for the info guys and the offers to keep her company ;-)

I think I'll go and take her my car and limp it home on the bump stops, worse case I can call the RAC for a lift.

Thanks for the offer of the cable Mozz, I'll be in touch over the weekend if I need it if thats ok.

Thanks again

Peter

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to update you on events. I got the car recovered home today by the RAC as I didn't fancy driving it 70miles home on the bump stops.

I then nipped out to meet the legend that is 'MOZZ SMITH' who very kindly lent me a EAS lead and program to try.

I came home and checked all the fuses and relays which are all ok and it seemed as if the EAS system simply wasn't startng up when the car started. I then plugged in the lead and laptop and fired up the EAS Suite and click 'GO', it ran and produced a line of 'Tx' values of FF and 01 which seemed normal however the 'Rx' column simply had one 'PP' value in it. I read that if this happened it ment the EAS wasnt powered so I thought that was that, however I clicked 'Clear Fault' anyway as I couldnt help it.

I then un-plugged it all and started the car.... And it worked!! The fault has cleared and the EAS has repressurized and will cycle through all modes.

So its this a fix or have I just delayed an issues which will appear again?? Should it have shown 'Rx' values???

I'll take it out tomorrow for a drive so fingers crossed :)

Thanks
