Rim size change

Hi Guys
Currently running 18" rims on my P38 2001 can I change to 20" rims without causing any issues with suspension etc?

yes but you prob wont like the handling,if all susp/steering components are 100% all should be ok but many will disagree let the show begin

Only 16" & 18" are homologated on the P38. Larger diameters can cause serious tram lining.

If you keep the rolling radious the same or at least close ie.lower profile
you should be fine

If he fits 20" wheels he would have to use 255 x 45 x 20 tyres. May rattle his teeth a bit.

As Keith says, anything other than 16's or 18's and the thing handles terrible...heck even on 18's with iffy pressures or wear and the handling is worse than a Morris Marina!!!

ant no problems with 20s on my old vogue 50 it drove 100% at any speed,but I would never fit aftermarket alloys on any one of my cars,or even recommend it to anyone imo

hi gfl, i will be changing my wheels in a couple of weeks from 22" low profile to 18" standered putting an 18"at the side of a 22" the rolling radius looks near enough the same, so will i have to recalibrate?

Saintv8 is correct - my 2000 p38 is on 18inch Hurricanes and begining to wander a bit as they are now a little worn (still good for another year of long distance summer motorways though). Just put my winter tyres on Michelan mud and snow on 16inch rims, result much better handling and ride.

worn tyres wont steer right whatever size they are ,the 16" with higher profile sidewalls to give you the same rolling circumference as 18s are just masking out early signs of poss steering/suspension problems that's why when people revert back to 16s it always seems better its all just a illusion.

Depends if it's a Morris Marina, a P38 or an L322. No recalibration needed on the P38.

sorry I forgot to say, it is a l322 , regarding selling them i will let you know when i have put the 18" on. PS. I still dont know if I have to recalibrate even though the radious looks the same.

only genuine lr for me thanks, ill fitted cheap alloy wheels irresponsibly fitted to vehicles,bent,buckled,cracked,welded, wrong nuts/bolts/pcd,load ratings etc etc etc down right dangerous imo,you can keep your aftermarket junk,i see it every day
