What engine is in the 2006 td5

Just been to buy oil for my 2006 Td5 Defender.
I have been told that it is a ford engine .........I thought that it was a BMW lump in there.
Not really bothered but I need to know for the parts if ever I need any
Any ideas ?????

its neither a ford or bmw engine, its solely a LR designed engine code name storm

Why would you need to know exactly who made it just to buy parts . Just buy parts for a td5, there's only one

Just to check that you are indeed stupid - I just asked my absolutely none-Landy wife what engine is in a TD5 90 - she correctly answered TD5... I feel that you don't deserve a TD5 90

mate to be honest if you put disco td5 in a simple google search you would have your answer of a five cylinder diesel engine by the code name storm, ther was even talk of the discovery being renamed this. The dickhead's that have replied are giving the usual banter,**** take, this forum is a give and take. You put in then take out. Ther are to many peeps that ask a question then disappear.
