dash switch bulbs

Just a quick one
been lookinh in past threds and cant find a definite answer
Are the bulbs in the dash buttons replacable? I mean the small logo that lights up on the hazzard,fog and cruse control switchs and what bulbs are they?
also the hevac bulbs are they the same as the binacle bulbs ie. there capless and they seperate from the holder
Ive got a few blown and was thinking of just buying a bag of them and change them all

In my dash switches I replaced the bulbs with LEDs. If I remember correctly there are two little screw caps on the side of the switches. One is for the illumination and the other is the 'on' light. (Mind you with my memory that might have been on the Merc before the Rangie - however I have fitted LEDS in the Rangie and it wasn't difficult) They aren't the normal capless bulbs but I replaced them quite easily. I seem to remember winding the LED wires through grooves in the little caps. As for the HEVAC you can see what's required if you look at the bulb kits on sale on ebay.

Asumeing they were 12v 3mm leds?

They were certainly nothing special, from Maplins I'd imagine. I also grabbed the chance to put a bit of colour into the dash and now have a multi-coloured height adjuster switch as well - why not, and it goes well with the blue glow from the dials.

with the dials having a built in green tint if I got blue leds would it go purple?

No idea, I fitted white dials that glow blue.

That's the little buggers, I remember now.
I also remember fitting the LEDs so that they were ninety degrees to the caps otherwise there was very little illumination out through the front of the switch.

I ordered mine from Island 4x4 I think. Not sure if you can buy just the bulbs as I'm pretty sure they are fixed in the holder.
