I may be putting P38 headers on mine as I can get a set for £15, they're semi tubular too which should be fine

Oh yes, I think ive seen those ones, are they the same as disco 2 4.0 headers?

Would removing the gearbox crossmember or modifying it be so bad?

I'll have to do something tomorrow, as much as i love it, its not worth the earache (from her or the police) Sounds like a spitfire divebombing, i just had an idea, could i turn the crossmember upside down ? That would allow room for the Y piece...

Yeh, nice chap, he was turning V8 blocks into coffee tables, had loads of them!

The manifolds arent the same as the ones on a D2 4.0, (not the one i had anyway) I dont even thing my 4.0 P38 had them on either but i cant be sure, it was that good i never needed to open the bonnet.

Wouldn't know, my whole setup is custom so I was going to get a set of same bore pipe, weld on an extension to the lip as P38 come as cat only which I don't need and then work from there onto my motorbike pipes

This is the same as my crossmember, it looks like i could flip it upside down for now, but it would only use 3 bolt holes each side then, that would be alright for light road use, just until i get something else sorted out.

Heres hoping the plan works tomorrow.

Nope, the Y piece fouls either sides so flipping it wont make any difference.....

Cut and re-weld the pipes ? or add in some flexi ?

I appreciate the offer but i dont want to put you through any trouble of posting packing etc.. Its quite a bit of messing about. I'll get one from a nearby breakers but thanks for letting me know which one i need. Im sure i'll get one for a tenner or so. It would probably cost more to post it anyway.

crossmember off. Y pipes are on! just about to fit mid silencer and lambda plugs. Dont think this crossmember is going back on. Will it be ok for light road use till i get right one? I'll try and get some photos. Its got to be the crudest homemade y pipe i have ever seen.
