could somebody be so kind as to refresh my memory for the 'hard reset' procedure please? cheers guys!
Cheers hippo i've done it once before but its been a while so couldn't quite remember. Sounds familiar now you say it, i'll give it a go tomorrow
as far as i know
disconnect both battery leads and then touch the two leads together for 10 seconds to discharge any power left in the system.
maybe someone can correct me.
i would like to do it to mine but im scared of what might go wrong :S
let us know how u get on![]()
well i did the hard reset! no problems, no major disasters, nothing broke mind you having said that i didnt wait 10 mins after touching + & - leads together. Go on give it a go!![]()

That's the same as connecting the + & - togetherI thought the + and - leads should never touch or am I mistaken?
I am looking to do a hard reset to reboot my Satnav without removing the passenger seat and unplugging the bcu. A hard reset looks like the way forward but I thought it would be safer to disconnect the + and - leads and earth the + lead with a jump cable.
Any ideas?
