Mtf94

Evening all, I have read somewhere that you can use MTF94 in everything apart from engine oil. Is this true as I can 'acquire' MTF94 in great amounts which would be good for me. If anyone knows if this is true and won't break my disco let me know.

how come you dont use diffs or t/box ,is vehicle permanently parked ?

I no its ok for gearbox I use mtf94 In gearbox and ep 80/90 in diffs and that. But if your car is moving you are using your diffs so I would find out for sure if you can use it in your diffs because it might be to thin

you can use any oil in diffs etc ,its just that ep is far better protection ,lr has used ep ,engine oil and atf in gear boxes

It's a 300tdi N reg if it helps. I will just spend some cash then and get EP90. It was worth asking though as you never know what you can use these days.

Hi Danny, just for your info you'll need 6ltrs of EP oil: 1.7ltrs for each axle and 2.3ltrs for the transfer box.

Re the EP oil most places sell a multigrade version, either 75w-90 or 80w-90 and so long as these are to GL4 or GL5 spec. they are perfect for the job.

On a Discovery it's 1.7ltr afaik but on a 110 with a Salisbury diff it's more.
