Hi All,

Need some spares ordered right now so I have a chance of getting them tomorrow - no one seems to actually stock all the parts I need.

Any clues on who actually stocks a proper range of oil pipes and seperater and a few other bits I need would be appreciated!?

Cheers

used LR direct - they were really helpful, in stock (everything) and going to try their best to get it out for delivery tomorrow.
Couldn't have asked for more.

Link to site - you need parts numbers but at least they are helpful.

I like lrdirect, paul is helpful.. however it always takes around 3-4 days from ordering to delivery in my experience.

No problem for me, as i plan in advance for weekend work :)

I do too, but left my crystal ball somewhere - it failed its mot for burning oil about 2 hours ago, so not a lot of time to plan.

one other thing i found with lrdirect is that if you look at the full list and browse, then you'll see they carry allsorts, oils, some tools, etc.

google search is useful if you search for 'site:lrdirect.com WHATEVER'

haha, i wasn't having a pop.. was just saying :)

Sorry I didnt word it well - know what you mean :)

Its annoying as had booked MOT last week so would have had time. Tester off sick, this as early as could fit it in - now no parts potentially.
They are going to try, so fingers corssed - if not - next weekend it is.

Tax runs out in May though so with no MOT (Bought it expireed) it gets worse if I do not MOT soon.

Re Island - just totally unhelpful - wouldn't even discuss a next day delivery or interested in what I was buying. No issue - plenty of other places to spend my cash :)

Do dealers hold P38 bits in stock?
I would be surprised, but new to LR so learning!

My experience with main dealers if its anything more than screen wash or brak fluid you are doomed.
Pretty fast at getting stuff in normally.

Something else I have noticed - loads of companies selling LR parts but they just replicate the whole parts catalogue and then order in as they sell. (directly from Land Rover)

Do we have a friendly LR dealer who supports the forum with a discount? Although like I mentioned impressed with LR Direct so far so may stick with them and better to support indies?

Good thinking - will do that. I wa sin a rush earlier but will put together a decent order for them I think. Really helpful.

Err i actually don't know.. i'm far too cheap to pay stealer rates. However most should be able to get the parts within 24hours.

Also local garages usually are members of a parts network that can get a lot of parts within a few hours, but you'd need a friendly local to help you on that score.

Very true - it is an amazing logistics system these local garages seem to tap into.
While I was waiting for my MOT to be done earlier there were numerous cases where they were getting parts within hours.

I was just emailing back and forth one of the web parts guys who list every Land Rover part under the sun. They had a wood gear knob showing available to order (normally within 24 hours) but when I checked he said he has rung Land Rover and it had been on back order and would probably go end of life. (so therefore not available to order)
Granted this is a rarer requested item and not a set of common brake pads but it highlights the limitations of these guys who just upload everything and hope for the best.
I enjoy the challenge of looking for parts anyway! Just not when I need them the following day ideally.

Have you got a good indy local at all? Mine has got me out the mire a few times in the past by having stuff on the shelf that I thought he probably wouldn't.

But as he's quick to point out, they're Land Rovers so you can never have enough parts on the shelves!!

There is a Land Rover specialist in Trowbridge - I might pop down and see what they are like?
Hoping the weekend is good so I can get stuck in!

same here.. it's nice sunshine atm.. but so far today I have had rain, hail/snow and glorious sun.. so god knows what tomorrow will bring.
