I wondered about that but then how far do gen LR side steps stick out?
Took mine off years ago But if memory serves it must be 6''
they look like they maybe 12-14" wide
yaeh but about 4" will be inboard of the the bodywork. deffo overkill. but not illegal
They're about 10" wide from edge to edge with 3.5" sitting in under the bodywork, wheel arches stick 2" out anyway so that leaves the steps 5" past the edge of major body panels which isn't that much
Legal or not adding 10'' to the width is a fook of a lot!
Exactly why I took me side steps off

could your bumpers stick out that far and be legal?
tis still 13" overall as ya can squeeze thru and flatten (rip off ya wheel arches) A lot of the lanes near you. Are a struggle to get thru the gates. in a standard disco.
Is this legal??

Yep that said though disco is 70.6" wide, series 3 is 66" wide so theres 4" from the off, lanes I usually take the disco goes through with ease so an extra 4" say a disco with side steps will be fineor rather Disco Dad in his disco with sliders fitted just fine and they're about the same width as side steps so I'll be reet by that reckoning

so 80" wide series then![]()
Assuming it moves when you've finished "OVER" engineering all the bits for it..
Depends how far in I mount them, I could probably push them in a little more and its more like 12 inches max rather than 14so not far off a modded disco as I said
Truebut mine will most likely live most of its life on the road rather than on greenlanes
