dont suppose could be a little more helpfull instead of mocking my lack of knowlage
so do i push over to the left then put in hi or low or just push over to left to engauge it ?
when not in diff lock you can stand still with car in gear with just any one wheel spinning on a slippery surface with center diff locked both axles are driven so you need one wheel on each axle to spin to stand still ,dont use diff lock on high traction surfaces like the road unless its snowy etc ,pushing the hi/low lever to the left engages/disengages diff lock by compressing a spring in the transfer box so the fact levers across either way doesnt necessarily mean it is either in or out ,there is no neutral like there is for hi/low,light on dash should show when in lock ,you can check by jacking one front wheel up if it spins by hand its not in diff lock if it wont it is in diff lock ,linkage and bushes in ,often wear so lever doesnt comprees spring enough to engage it can be adjusted or repaired ,you can engage and disengage on the move ,hence the spring in box which will move selector when shafts line up ,but often after use it may need subtle clutching or even a little reverse to disengage depends on amount if any of wind up in the transmissiondont suppose could be a little more helpfull instead of mocking my lack of knowlage
have a look at this vid How Diff Lock Works and When To Use It (UK Terminology) - YouTube and ffs sake try reading the manual before asking Q's like this![]()
50-50 unless one wheel spins then it takes it all ,you can buy axle diff lockers of many types ,manual locking or automatic ,limited slip etc google detroit or ashcroft lockers though there are many more maxidrive were the best imo not cheap but serious kit not necessary for mostIf the diff lock, locks the front to back in a 50:50 power split, what is the normal driving set up when the diff lock is not engaged?
There is no way to lock the diffs across the same axle is there?
