diff lock teeth on output shaft have coffin shape which means while theres power collar is pulled into lock more postively likewise when on full overrun inbetween both states is the easiest for disengagement

any one know is a 1988 110 county is 4wd permently it has no red or yellow lever onlt hi low diff lock stick and normal box ???

my oil pressure and temp gauge dont work and i dont know where they are located on the engine so i want to find out if its a duff sender or its the gauges that are f**ked

I have a 110, I only use diff locks if I get stuck. As soon as you get going disengage the diff locks as it will burn your tyres and wind up your transmission which could result in breaking things like the half shafts etc. Another time I would use diff locks is when going down a steep icy slope, It gives you better control but once again as soon as your on firm ground disengage. I'm not sure what a J19 engine is. If its like a 200tdi then yu will have the small gear lever which operates like the letter H. on older models they used to have a red and yellow lever. I'm not familuar with that type. Hope that might be of some help? Check out the following link on youtube How Diff Lock Works and When To Use It (UK Terminology) - YouTube That explains it in more detail. and gives you examples. Good Luck
