Replacing Bushes

So the Disco came back from it's Service and MOT and I got a note stating that some of the bushes on the rear arms are starting to split, so I figure I should plan on replacing them

Typilcally how long would this take me if I got a complete set of bushes and did all the corners?

This rather depends...I've just done all mine. The hardest part is getting the old bushes out and then it depends if you are planning on using polybushes or not as to how easy they are to get back in.

My advice would be to let a garage press the old bushes out and pop the new ones in for you. I did mine a bit at a time by cutting the old bushes out and using superpro new one's, took me ages!

I just finished poly bushing my 300. a lot better. took 2 weekends to do it. I took the little more risky route and burned them out. worked ok for me

I just done all the front axle bushes on my D1 Not a bad job.Burn the old rubber and inner sleeve out then hack saw the outer sleeve.I found the biggest problem was if the bolts had rusted to the inner sleeve they were pigs to get out but i did mine with the car sat on its wheels not jacked so struggled to get a strong bar on the bolts.In all took a couple of days to do and easy enough just try and get the car up on some ramps would be even better.

I changed all 48/50 bushes on my old M reg Disco, what a struggle by hand, but me and my mate done the lot in 2 days if that helps.. Minus a few layers of skin on hands and a lot of swearing all went rather well.. Oh p.s. the only one i couldn't do was the A frame ball joint.. Good luck.

48/50 bushes? Off the top of my head there are only 14 to change

2 on the A-frame, 4 for both rear trailing arms, 6 for the front plus two for the pan hard rod.

If you're pushed for time and like me and can't afford to have the car off the road, then why not do like I did and buy some trailing arms and an old a-frame off ebay cheap, then refurb them at your leisure in the evening, burn/cut the old bushes out, clean up and hammerite then fit the new bushes, when they look like new you just need a short amount of time to swap the parts over and job done.

Plus I found being in the garage all evening a bonus from watching all the crap on telly.

4x Front Radius Arm Bushes

2x Panhard Rod Bush
2x Rear Trailling Arm Bush
2x Rear Trailing Arm Bush
2x Rear A Frame Bush
2x Rear Shock Absorber Top Bush
12x Shock Absorber Bush
4x Shock Absorber Bush
8x Antil Roll Bar Link Bush
2x Anti Roll Bar Bush
2x Anti Roll Bar Bush
oh yeah also done the steering damper and new bushes
and all ball joints on anti roll bars and Bushes.
Well unless i forgot anything of the top of my head..

Sorry mate I wasn't counting the shocks/roll bars, the OP mentioned the rear trailing arms so I was meaning how many he'd have to do using a kit, obviously though you've done a full full poly bush job!
