Who uses KC 57 series driving lamps???

Just in the process of looking into fitting a lamp bar and researching in to which lights to opt for. I would rather fit rectangular lamps to the lamp bar and I have come across the KC 57-series lights. They are 5"x7" and 55w each with the intention of fitting 4 to the lamp bar.
Does anyone have any experience with these lights and if so what are your thoughts?

Any pictures of them fitted to your landy? How much are you looking for? Does the loom come with them? Would prefer rectangular lights but if the price is right I could possibly be swayed!

I am also thinking about fitting some Roo lights to an A-bar which will then be connected to my high beam. This should then produce some good quality light after hours.

Lightforce are tough but KC HID's throw a better beam I think, I used HID's on the front and they have a higher light output that all 4 on my roof combined

I wont be opting for HIDs just plain old halogen. I havn't won the lottery yet!!!!

Yeah but you might as well buy 2 HID's for the front rather than 4 halogens for the roof and two for the front

It'll cos the same and save a lot of wiring

I like the idea of the lights on the roof as they look cool on a defender!!!!

Cool but pointless if theres no point in using them

My roof lights were just for blinding people more after I worked out they added no light difference to the front end visibility wise

Plus you get a bit of bonnet glare too which is annoying

they add light but none that is visible to you as such, with the HID's on the front putting out more light than the ones on the roof they are drowned out essentially so all you get is the added bonnet glare

The light with the roof is also far lower quality and has worse penetration than the HID's on the front, it would be the same if you had good lights on the front like the Lightforces they would most probably drown out the roof lights

I was thinking these on A-bar:
KC Rally 800 8 inch Black Stainless Steel 130w Long Range System # 801

4 of these on roof bar:
KC # 783 Black (Steel) 5x7 100w - Flood - Light System

But from what you are saying my best bet would be to simply just fit a pair of these to an A-bar:
KC # 861 8 Inch Long Range HID - Black Stainless Steel System

I've got these on the front or had them in that pic I sent you, taken them off now as I don't drive at night much anymore

If you want a pair for the front the roof lights I have will go on be cheaper than buying from that site too they do an excellent job just yes HID's would be my choice if you were wanting to have proper lighting on the front, the HID kit also comes with everything you need to wire it up so no messy cutting and splicing just plug and play with them

Hello All, I'm trying to refurbish a couple of driving lamps fitted to a 110. The lenses have fogged up but I can't believe the problem I'm having replacing the sealed beam units. They are the genuine LR lamps. It appears i could buy a pair of new lamps complete for about £50 but being a contrary bugger I'd like to keep the originals.
Any help appreciated.

Just fitted and wired up my four KC 57-series driving lights to my roof bar. What a difference! They don't half chuck out some additional light.

I will add another two lights in the form of some 130watt KC DAYLIGHTER long range lights to an A-frame to complete my set-up. This will hopefully complement my current format.

All I can say is I'm well happy thus far with the additional light provided by the KC's.

i went thru 3 sets of roof lights before i found some i was happy with ..as dr evil says the bonnet glare added no extra visibility

in the end i got some wipac pencil beam spots which were loads better
