Won't stop

pull the wire off the stop solenoid on the injection pump. if it keeps running, then the solenoid is stuck - or you're running on engine oil, and your engine is about to blow up! :)
 
check the white wire to the solonoid. If when pulled off the terminal the engine keeps running then you have a problem with the stop solonoid. This is usually down to swarf and is usually signs of a pump failure an expensive issue, Or it could be turbo seals and this again is not good and needs sorting ASAP:

If when you pull the white wire off the terminal and the engine stops as it shoud you have a wiring fault. Somewhere you have a perm live feed feeding the white (Ign switched) wire to your solonoid. You can confirm this by using a multimeter and cheching for voltage at the end of the white wire with the ignition key removed. if you have voltage present with no ignition then there is a live feed shorting the white ign wire.

A problem I have come across on several occasions is the alt main battery charging Perm live feed in the harness can short to the ign wires if the harness falls out of the plastic clips at the rear of the engine and the harness rubs on the bellhousing/engine. If this is the case then you potentially have a fire on your hands. You should remove the battery terminal after using the Landy and I would sort it before going anywhere if that is the case.
