Belated hello and welcome.

If you think this is rough I'm a member of a make specific bike forum where the welcome is WAFO, and yes, it what you might think it is :)

As with this place I ignored the gentle abuse and now enjoy another very useful forum.

If you are genuinely willing then you could get a good series of articles based on novice DIYer doing up a LR based on internet advice, your challenge being to spot what is advice and what is pure scheming with the poster awaiting the embarrassing photo :D
 
I'll tell you what Mr Dave..... If you are ever short of a few words... you could do a lot worse than look at Buster's photo tour landrover repairs.

His time and effort has made life much easier for many of our members, and the fact tht he has taken the time to create such detailed accounts of his work is testament to his contribution to the forum.

If, in any way, the existence of such forums had to be justified.... then Buster has justified it single handedly.

You may have got a wild reception, but at least you got one.. You need a thick skin on here, but as others will tell you, when the **** hits the fan you couldn't be in better hands! Members here have dragged themselves from their beds on more than one occasion, to go and help somebody that they have never met before sort out their Landy Rover.
Try to enjoy the banter, because the advice you get on here WILL get you out of a sticky situation one day. Our members are a hive of useless and useful information. Nobody is imune from the abuse, if they think they are they tend to leave pretty quickly!

Personally I subscribe to LRO because I wanted a socket set that came with the subscription. But I have a soft spot for LRM. Back in the early days we used to run adverts in the mag to try to attract members. I'm not sure how many members came from reading the ads, but I'm pretty sure you will get new customers from reading this thread so it kind of works for me.

Feckin right.... who was that fella.... called from 40 miles away to say that he was stuck in a lane in essex.

Load of us from herts spend a few hours driving over there to get him out without dropping the discovery into a river ten feet below.

When I say a "few hours"..... it actually took 68 hours to get his vehicle back from possible disaster.

None of us knew him.... (though we accepted a coupla pints a month later when he came to our pub meet!)

But we were all LZ members. You may find references to International Rescue on the forum... it works.

During the time that we have been aquaintances I have known you to publish many comments, some of unusual common sense and a few of slightly more random content.

You will understand, therefore, why it was with some confusion that I regarded your latest post. Though I sought with diligence the source for your reference to a small puppy, I could find no records of such an abuse taking place either in your locality or mine.

It is with some trepidation therefore that I feel compelled to enquire...

Where the f**k did that come from?

That puppy is suffering PTSD, and is currently undergoing counselling at Battersea Dogs Home.
