WTF with the petrol situation !!!

As title, Whats up with all these silly people going and filling up their tanks and jerry cans ! now theres no fuel left in any of my local petrol stations !

i genuinely need to top up and i cant now ! lol

theres been queues 30 mins long in my area for fuel !

are people silly ? just because one stupid geeza says we must stock up ! LMAO

While the fuel delivery system is perfectly healthy with specialised drivers keeping the just-in-time system afloat, it makes sense to load the system by topping up your tank. The Tories, whatever you may think about them, have the right idea. There is more fuel sloshing around in transit (tankers) than the entire forecourt delivery system can handle, similarly there is more fuel capacity in the combined fuel users' fuel tanks than there is in the tanks under the combined fuel station infrastructure, the refuelling infrastructure IS the weak point. The advice to top up now while the supply infrastructure can be replenished at full capacity is very sensible and would very-much mitigate five or six days of strike action by the greedy, overpaid delivery drivers. £45K to drive a wagon 40 hours per week whilst their non-fuel-delivery compatriots are struggling to make £25K? Are they having a laugh? It's not as if they are astronauts or something!

I've always got 20 or 30 litres of petrol in stock for the mowers and the same in white diesel plus around 2000 litres of RED if I'm really stuck. Strikes are not that uncommon in France and I'm a long way from anywhere so always best to be prepared.
If you think fuel tanker drivers are overpaid, you should look at train drivers, £52K for sitting in something you can't steer and cannot be stopped in an emergency. It's no wonder the UK is uncompetetive and train fares are so high.

Seriously, £52k???? Most new-hire First Officers with even major airlines don't get paid that!! Only BA I think, and they have pretty much the highest pay in the industry!

Running a 13mph Classic and my nearest petrol station being 15 miles away, whenever I fill it up I normally fill a couple of 20 lt gerry cans as well. Vital cargo for the occasional long distance journey.

I've not been travelling a lot lately though, but in trying to keep up with the recent Tesco, Morrison, Asda, discount offers, I've ended up with 120 lt tucked away behind me shed. So hopefully I won't have to join the queues at the pumps for a little while yet. It should keep the wife's shopping trolly Corsa going for months.
