Have just bought a Defender 110 and was given 2 alarm/immobiliser fobs. One is isn't working. Have tried changing the battery but it still isn't working. Any suggestions? Thanks

What year is the 110. Is it fitted with a genuine alarm/immob? Did you fit the correct battery the correct way around? Did you remove, fit and re-synch the fob as per Landrovers destructions?
Not sure if second fob is coded. I noted the instructions in the handbook about that i.e. using the ignition key. Is that the right thing to do? Will it affect the fob that is working in any way?
You don't simply remove the old battery and then stick in a new battery. You need to discharge the plip and then re-synch it after fitting the new battery. You did do this?
If you did it sounds like you first need to find out if the plip is giving out a signal when the buttons are pressed and then that the plip is programmed/coded to the vehicle.
I'm slightly baffled by something you said though.....

Hi. Haven't done anything yet about re-psynching the plip. Just saw the instructions in the handbook about re-psynching the fob but wasn't sure how to go about that. Any advice appreciated. Thanks

Remove duff battery from plip (fob)
Hold down both buttons on plip and count to 10
fit new battery
Press lock button 5 times
It should then recognise itself
