Oil Leak

I've just bought a '98 Discovery 300tdi, but it has the 'typical' Land Rover oil leak. What causes this, and how can I fix it? Thanks in advance!

Typical oil causes it, and if you don't add any more oil it'll stop..... eventually.

where is the leak coming from, true it is typical for Landys to leak, but unfortunately they can leak from many places, sometimes all at once!

Landys aren't the only cars that leak oil , just have a look on Morrisons car park........... feckin oil everywhere !

Its British , its supposed to leak , its a rolling oil change . Where is this typical leak from ? Cyclone , rocker cover , breather pipes , sump gasket , bell housing ? To name a few ....

Sorry - I haven't been able to get on for ages. Sadly I don't really know where the oil leak is coming from. It was an advisory on the MOT, but I haven't actually seen any oil yet (fingers crossed).
