range rover vouge refuses to start! lol

hi all well my fella has a range vouge and i borrowed it filled it up at garage when i came out to start it, it wouldnt turn over so i got AA out and they said it was the starter motor to which i had it changed n fitted a brand new 1 still no turn over, so we then changed the fuse box which we was told was another problem brand new fuse box and still no turn over:doh::doh::doh::doh::doh: my fella is now at his wits end trying to find out what it could be and suggestions anyone have u had the same problem HELPPPPPP lol

B) Did you put diesel in the tank ?

C) Have you checked connections to and from battery ?

D) Have you tried a search ?

is that a problem if its a diesel engine?

no our one is petrol and we have tried everything we can think of as u turn it over its clicking as u try and start it :S i thought it may be a relay but not sure which one or it may be the immobiliser but aint to sure so any suggestions welcome?

As to the problem, check the battery power output

Or refer to the manual to check for immobiliser

Well that would be where I would start, my series only clicks when the battery is hooked up but when I put a power pack onto it it fires……stupid battery needs replacing at some point


If the battery is good then at least somethings eliminated

it is a new battery on it its just baffling us why its clicking when we turn it over getting quite frustrating now lol

If its a new bat maybe the connections come loose if who ever fitted it didnt tighten the clamps up

Had that problem when going over large bumps, just jolts it off enough to give a bad connection

Yeah cos they'll really know what they're doing...
