hey guys,
been signed up for a while now but never posted since ive not managed to get myself a landy yet as im still a student, bummer.
anyway, i borrowed my dads td4 freelander so i could do a weeks placement for uni and after driving 260 miles up to glasgow fine, i went to drive it later that day and had loads of clutch problems.
basically the pedal kept getting stuck and it wouldnt go into gear at all, had the RAC out and he said ''clutch system requires re-bled and fluid change, fluid looks to be water contaminated''
so i had it towed into a local garage and they carried out the above and said that it was going into gear, but would need the slave doing soon.
drove it back to my flat in glasgow and it was no different after the first mile or so.
the master and clutch were replaced 2 months ago and the cars done 130k miles
the tow in and re-bleeding clutch system was £84 inc VAT (dad reconed this was about right) and am i right in saying you need to take out the gearbox to get to the slave?
any help would be really appreciated as my dads away in amsterdam on business and its down to me, and being only 20 with not much mechanical knowledge i dont want to get ripped off by the garage!
thanks every so much,
tom
