Done a search and could not find anything at all about tyres :D:D:D:rolleyes::doh:

Ok, no I didn't because I can remember the answers that sometimes follow so I thought I'd just ask the question...

I need some tyres urgently for my disco 300tdi, 95% on road usage, commuting or towing.

I was guessing grabber AT2's maybe? Is there a better option that won't leave me looking like a sad tosser when it snows as well?

To put my usage into perspective, last winter was pretty crap and she did me proud running on four mixed make tyres, all well worn so I don't think I push the envelope too hard.

For a laugh, I rang our local kwik-fit shop, call went like this....

I'm looking for a set of tyres
What size please?
235 70r16
Tap tap tap, what car?
Land rover discovery
What engine size? (I started grinning at this point)
2.5ltr diesel
Tap tap tap, hmmm, I have several here,
I want a specific make please,
What's that sir?
Bf goodrich AT or General Grabber AT2
Sorry, I've never heard of BF Goodrich
Click.

After having a laugh, you then realise that the dopey **** just lost them a possible £400+ sale by not knowing who makes tyres.

Oh well, it brightened my day up a bit:)

Got four nice new round thingys on me disco now, excellent service from Event Tyres, took all of 45 mns for four tyres fitting, balancing and refitting, I was impressed.

Steering feels better too.
