another tyre question

hi , i have a disco 300tdi 94, and ive got the chance to buy 5 x goodyear wrangler radial tyres on rims , the tyres on the disco are 235/70/16 the wrangler tyres are off a defender 2002 110 and the size ive been told are , 7.50r x 16 my question is , will they fit my disco without any mods being done ? or would the tyres fit my rims ?

The rims and tyres show bolt straight on without mods. 235/70/16 is a std Disco I size so no probs.

The 7.50 R 16 size on the defender are bigger than the 235.70R16's that you are currently running.

They are equivilant to 235.85R16's

Unless you have either new suspension or a two inch lift then they will catch the rear wings on articulation.

They give about an extra inch of clearance under the diffs.

I have a set of 7.50 r16 off a defender, no cutting required, they're the same diameter as 235/85/r16 but are far narrower so seem to sit inside the wheel arch comfortably, on mod I would say was needed is bigger bump stops, but that want urgent unless you offroad it often. Hope that helps
