is this a rust bucket?

following on from my other thread, ive received photos of the chasis and as im new to all this, i cant say weather it looks normal or horrofic!
any advise welcome.

most of that looks like surface rust to me, a good wire brushing and re-under seal you should be fine

You're lucky to be able to see that much metalwork - mine is under 3 inches of mixed mud and cowpat

Seriously Mike you would need to give us a little more info on the vehicle as you can't value something on a few chassis photos without even knowing what vehicle is resting on it!

convert it to 200/300 yourself buy a disco that failed the mot. yel get that off the seller for 2k easy an leaves you 3k to convert an for goodies

Probably around a grand if your paying someone else

Depends what " reconditioned " means ln that add - id be looking for a rebuild head and new pistons /rings with reciepts to proove ideally from a professional

I found a low milage 200tdi engine from a disco for 250 to fit myself !

That piston heads one has a chequerplate xmember - there is only one reason for that ! Tin worm !

you would get a rotted disco for about £400-£700 an you should be able to easily get someone to do it for £300-ish (maybe a bit less) or have a go yourself i don't mined giving you a hand put it in

so it would be a new engine and rear crossmember id be looking at replacing.
the engine i suppose could just wait untill it does die, the cross member would be replaced, assuming it is rotten and just hidden by chequer plate.
