Newbie Question - Is this rust bad under a TD5 90?

I also favour these, 40 quid for loads of different kinds

Quick update - a friend of mine has a very big air compressor and blasting kit/gun.

I've been researching and I've been reading soda blasting is good, which gives a good finish with the benefit that it doesnt wreck rubber or wiring etc.

Thoughts on any different media? And couyld you also use soda on cleaning the engine bay?
