Recommended insurers for a modern Range Rover?

I've successfully used various classic specialists for cars n the past but now need to find insurance for a modern (2014) Range Rover so more of a normal policy with normal miles and so on. Anyone got any recommendations on who's good in this market? Thanks.

L322 Buyers guides and where to buy?

Hi, Now my D1 has sadly gone I'm thinking of "trading up" to a TDV8 3.6 L322 probably around an '08 and have been looking around for buyers guides and specialist dealers but I seem to be drawing a bit of a blank on both. I know they don't command quite the same passion as the Defender and...

    Help needed.. Newbie

I can see that mechanical breakdown insurance (ie a warranty) would cover it but how would normal fully comp insurance cover a breakdown?

    Discovery 2 camper

Very nice. Great attention to detail. The rear seats with only lap belts and a roll cage in head butting distance would worry me a bit though!

    Advice?! Walton motors - Cranleigh

Ben, I thought I was buying one of those good ones when I bought from them - I wasn't and the "MoT issue" various people have noted was also my experience. I had mine inspected a few months after buying because it was clear things weren't right and Walton Motors were less than keen to sort them...

    Who do you wave at?

Maybe it's because I'm in a Disco, but rarely get a wave. If I see a fellow D1/D2 owner with a modded/off roader I'll sometimes get a stare and a nod but I've not seen a whole lot of waving going on.

    Advice?! Walton motors - Cranleigh

Just seen this. Great to see Walton Motors and the Wenman Brothers getting a bit of what they deserve. They sold me a right heap of junk and were an absolute nightmare to deal with in trying to sort it out. I would avoid them like the plague .

300tdi auto - problems starting in cold weather (not battery)

I thought glow plugs were pretty reliable and didn't deteriorate. However it sounds like I should start there. I'll feel a bit stupid if it is as basic as that.... Just to underline my numptie credentials, I'm new to diesels so can I ask how difficult these are to replace and whether there is...

Been offered a broken G4. Is it worth it...

If it is a genuine G4 and you're confident that is all that wrong with it then it sounds very good. Does it have FSH and can you verify it's a G4? With that age and mileage a proper one could be £8-£9k so even after discounting a bit for the engine swap and suspension changes you've got a fair...

300tdi auto - problems starting in cold weather (not battery)

On cold mornings the car is really difficult to start. Turns over but can take 30 seconds to catch and when it does it's doing so really slowly so I have to keep it turning over with the key for 5-10 seconds just while it's trying to catch on top of the 20-30 seconds of turning over beforehand...

    Battery or earth may be?

This is interesting. I have the same problem - 300tdi not starting on cold and frosty mornings. However it's definitely not the battery in my case as it's got a brand new 1000cca battery fitted. This morning it started fine (without me even needing to recharge it from the previous occasion...

How do you clean your roof?

If I was to ever clean the roof (hasn't happened yet) I think it would be with a step ladder. If you were to stand on it, wouldn't the bonnet bend? I've not plucked up the courage to sit or stand on mine. Come to that, what about standing on the roof with a mop?

Help needed - Engine cuts out - fuel pump?

The latest in a depressingly long list of issues with my '97 300tdi Auto is that the engine has started to die when I come to a junction or similar. The engine is just cutting out as the car slows to a halt. It won't restart for a couple of minutes, but does start and carries on after resting...

    Advice?! Walton motors - Cranleigh

Did this get sorted? I'm having a similar problem with Walton Motors in Cranleigh. They are proving to be a right nightmare and I think within a couple of weeks I will be pursuing the legal route through the Small Claims Court. Impossible to get hold of, hollow promises etc. I'm hoping they...

    Pressure washers

I just bought a Nilfisk (mid-range E120 I think it was). I did quite a bit of looking around and while Karcher are definitely the default choice, I got the impression that unless you get a commercial quality one they are not as good as you might think. Only tried it a couple of times but it...

    Doggy mechanic

Sounds like doggy is what he's doing to you? At the risk of stating the obvious, brakes aren't something to mess around with. I'd take it elsewhere.
